Côtes du Rhône Mistral, Domaine de Ferrand
Vintage 2022
750 ML
HK$108.00
Score: JS91-92 (2021)
Bright forest-berry and mulberry aromas are married to gentle tannins on the well-crafted, medium-bodied palate. Lively but well balanced acidity at the surprisingly long finish. From organically grown grapes.

Domaine de Ferrand is a small Châteauneuf du Pape estate located in the Northern part of the appellation, named after the lieu-dit where it is located, mention of the property sets back to the 17th century. The estate is owned by the Bravay family since the 19th century. Philippe Bravay took over the estate in 1997 and started to bottle its own wines. Domaine de Ferrand owns some of the oldest grenache in the appellation dating back to 1904, 1910 and 1920. The 9.5 hectares of Côtes du Rhône are mostly located on lieu Dit Clavin and La Berthaude at the very border of appellation Châteauneuf du Pape and in direct vicinity of the estate. Phillippe primary goal is to truthfully express its terroirs, he works with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and the cellar. Viticultural activities are driven by lunar cycles and treatments are limited to copper and sulphur. Phillippe use organic compost once every two years in the vineyard as sole fertilizer. Harvest is made by hand, manually, Phillippe is generally among the earliest pickers of the area, wanting to preserve the freshness and fruit purity of its wines. “Philippe Bravay is continuing as one of the most talented and passionate young vignerons in Châteauneuf du Pape.” – Jeb Dunnuck |
