Domaine Baron Thenard
Domaine Baron Thénard was founded in the mid-19th Century, although the family reputedly had vineyard holdings dating back to the previous century. Based in Givry, Domaine Baron Thénard has excellent holdings throughout Burgundy - It is one of the largest holders of vines in the famed Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard, as well as in Grands-Exchézeaux, Corton Clos-du-Roi, and Pernand-Vergelesses. Its cellar, dating from the eighteenth century, is a magical and incredible place to visit. It's dark, damp, and cold— a perfect place to age wine. Jean-Baptiste Bordeaux-Montrieux has been running the domaine from the 1980's and the wines have always been made in a very traditional method.
