The 2022 Pommard Les Charmots 1er Cru, which includes 20% whole-bunches, has a reserved bouquet compared to its peers. Well-defined, it has impressive transparency, with raspberry and dark cherry fruit and hints of tobacco in the background. The palate is medium-bodied and silky smooth, with pliant tannins, fine delineation and a caressing, Volnay-like finish. This is going to be impossible to resist in its youth! Tasted at merchants’ 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

| Producer Info | *Organic* Claudie Jobard’s father, Roger, developed the estate in the 1970s, buying and planting land in Rully. Most of the vines date from this period and are now 40+ years old and producing glorious wine. As well as making top class Rully (and Pommard from her mother’s side), Claudie not only continues the Jobard nursery business supplying grafted vines to growers but also, as a qualified oenologist, makes the wine for the Remoissenet négociant business. |
