Attractive mulberry and ripe red plums with a core of gently grainy tannins in an almost chalky mode. Juicy and bold finish. Try from 2020.

Château Bel-Air is composed of one single block of 30 hectares, of which 21 hectares are vines. The estate is committed to achieving level 3, which is the highest level of the “HVE” or High Environmental Value (HEV) classification. Cuvee Jean & Gabriel was created with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt, whereby the team meticulously selected and vinified five hectares of old vines in order to produce the best wine possible. Vine management is plot by plot, practicing sustainable viticulture. The wine is a blend of 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Franc from 40 years old vines planted in Lussac St Emilion, vinified in temperature-controlled Small concrete vats, and matured 40% in new oak, 40% in one year old barrels and 20% in two years old barrels for 18 months. |
