Vino De Viñedo Los Parientes Pinot Noir, Vinos Baettig
Vintage 2023
750 ML
HK$208.00
Score: VM94
The 2023 Pinot Noir Viñedo Los Parientes originates from Traiguén, Araucania. Fermented with 15% whole clusters and aged for eight months in oak barrels, it presents a purple hue. Aromas of cherry, pomegranate, dried flowers and sweet briars intertwine with cedar notes. Dry, lean and taut on the palate, the combination of stem tannins, oak and silky Pinot texture elevates things, creating a faintly plush mouthfeel with a gentle roughness. This is a meticulously crafted Pinot Noir from the deep south of Chile.

Francisco Baettig, probably South America’s greatest winemaker, was previously responsible for making all the premium wines for Eduardo Chadwick and Errazuriz, including Sena, Don Maximiano, Vinedo Chadwick and Las Pizarras. Vinos Baettig is his new project. The Baettig wines are very small production Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from cooler climate Southern Chile region of Malleco. Baettig has been included among the Top 100 Wine Discoveries 2020 by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. “Francisco ‘Pancho’ Baettig is one of the finest winemakers in Chile and responsible for some of the best wines in the country. His own personal project focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Malleco in the south, where his grandparents arrived from Switzerland. The wine is produced in an artisanal and manual way from one of the cooler terroirs in Chile. Vibrant, precise and symmetric.” Wine Advocate, Top 100 Wine Discoveries 2020 |
