There is plenty of sauvage character suffusing the more expressive nose of mostly red berries and discreet floral wisps. The generously proportioned if not particularly dense medium weight flavors also possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the youthfully austere, firm and compact finale that displays fine length.

*Organic* The history of the domain dates back to 1865 and since 1997 Chantal Tortochot has revived this important Burgundian estate in Gevrey Chambertin since taking over from her father, Gabriel. Her skillful winemaking has produced a range of lively, inexpensive, fruit-laden wines which are accessible, young and yet promise to develop well over several years. Since 2013 the vineyards are certified organic, their winemaking practice is to 100% de-stem, with 25% new oak for village, 50% for 1er Cru, and upto 100% for the Grand Cru. The jewels in the crown are the well situated Premier Cru vineyards Lavaux St Jacques, Champeaux, and the Grand Crus Mazis Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin and a morsel of the king of wines, Chambertin itself. |
