Goodrich Chardonnay, Elk Cove
Vintage 2019
750 ML
HK$280.00
Score: WA94
The 2019 Chardonnay Goodrich, from vines planted in the early 2000s, offers layered aromas of yellow apple, meringue, hazelnut, toast and honeysuckle. The medium-bodied palate is creamy and expansive, its breadth balanced by gently tangy acidity, and it boasts a long, flavorful finish. This is so pretty!

| Producer Info | Elk Cove Vineyards, one of the founding wineries of the Willamette Valley, was founded in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell. Winemaker Adam Campbell joined forces with his parents in 1995 and Elk Cove remains proudly family owned. Elk Cove Vineyards was the first to make wine in what is now the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, and is named for the local herd of Roosevelt elk and the protective bowl shape of the property.
Second-generation owner-winemaker and fifth-generation Oregon farmer Adam Campbell crafts award-winning Pinot Noir as well as crisp aromatic Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. All wines are 100% estate-grown, from sustainably farmed vineyard sites located across the northern Willamette Valley, representing the region’s three primary soil types and a variety of microclimates. All the wines are made with the same gentle handling through gravity flow system, which results in elegance, texture and luscious quality that are the hallmarks of exquisite Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The single vineyard pinots see around 10 months in new French oak of between 30-40%, whilst the Chardonnay is whole bunch pressed and aged in a mix of new and used barrels for 12 months. |
