BLANKbottle Empire Strikes back, Stellenbosch
Vintage 2021

HK$178.00
Score: TA93
The name of this wine is a reference to the renaissance of Stellenbosch, which is the origin of this assemblage of Verdelho with 62% Chenin Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne. Old wood and concrete fermented, it has pear, patisserie and clementine flavours, fine texture and the freshness that’s a feature of Pieter Walser’s whites. 2022-26

The birth of BLANKBOTTLE was In 2004, a lady came to Pieter. She wanted to buy anything but Shiraz. “I don’t drink Shiraz”, were her exact words. He poured her a glass of wine. She loved it and bought 3 cases. It was a straight Shiraz. BLANKbottle is breaking every rule in the book.
